I have family that lives in the Champaign-Urbana, Illinois area and in the mid 1950’s became acquainted with an airman at Chanute AFB in Rantoul, IL. They would like to renew the friendship but have lost contact. Any information would be appreciated.

“Oakie” Harwood – not sure if the first name was a nickname or an actual name – was stationed at Chanute AFB in the 1956 - 57 timeframe. Approximate age they tell me was 15 (he misrepresented his age when joining the service). The only other detail I have is that they think his mother may have lived in the Orlando, Florida area at that time.
