Reunion? - 3rd Munitions Maint. Squadron Andersen AFB
Guam 1965-1968
Anyone who served on Guam during this period,
and was assigned to the 3rd MMS bomb dump (461's) or fight line (462's). This
was during the buildup and when SAC was flying daily bombing missions to Vietnam
from Guam. The bomb dump area was out in the boonies, and there was a metal assembly
building called the "Bab" building and there was also a fin breakout
area which employed several Guamanian and Filipino civilians. Fin breakout was
run by a cigar-smoking (chewing actually) African American staff sergeant from
Alabama named Archie Cook. Some of the other NCO's there at the time were Sgt.
David Barbour, Sgt. John Bargo, Sr. Mstr. Sgt. Jones, and Mstr. Sgt. Thomas, who
later became First Sgt..
Because of a shortage of 461's many
people were cross-trained from Air Police and Civil Engineers, etc. squadrons
at other SAC bases in the states and sent to work in 3rd MMS Guam TDY for 179
days. Then of course there were us PCS guys who were "stuck on the rock"
for the full 18 month tour. Some of these bomb humpers and "Mustang "
haulers were John Graham, Lloyd Voorhees, Bo Ballard, Lee Howard, Ricky Cooley,
HenryAdams, and Tony Medeiros. I am just mildly curious as to what has happened
to some of these uh, elite Airmen who lived in Tin City and spent most of their
off time either in the Airmen's club or down at Muscle's Place or the uh, a-hem...the
infamous La Paloma Club.. (just kidding) I'm also curious as to wheter or not
any of you bums stayed in contact with one another after you were discharged from
the USAF. If you are still among the living and were once a part of the nurturing
caring sensitive guys who made up the 3rd MMS humping- to- please bomb-dumping

anyone that was station at "RAF Station Molesworth" England. Between

here. Looking for former members of the 962nd [551st] Otis AFB Ma. 1954-68. need
help on getting recognition for pilot and co-pilot of EC121H #549. I was a former
Radar Crew Chief [CICO] and was medically grounded {DNIF} working in the pilots
section on the morning of April 25th 1967. when Col. Lyle {Wing Commander} secetary
called and said he would like to fly the 1830 block. I put him on it but did not
have an IP available to fly with him. Maj. Franklyn, squadron Stan Eval Pilot,
who was standing near by said "put me on with him jj".
As
most of you know, shortly after takeoff #549 had an explosion in the right wing
root, Col Lyle was cleared to land at Nantucket Airport where there was emergency
equipment standing by. By this time the aircraft was a flaming comet and rather
than put the people on the ground in harms way, Col. Lyle and Maj.Franklyn decided
to ditch,on contact with the water the plane exploded killing 15 of the 16 crew.Witnesses
on the ground and in the air lauded the pilots efforts to keep the burning aircraft
away from the populace.To this day the U.S. Goverment or the Air Force has failed
to recognize these Heroes. I have a letter from Sen. John Kerry who will help

Haboian is missed
until today. His name is on the big wall at the Netherland American cemetery.
There is a plane in the floor near Siegen/Germany which could be his one. In 1968
there was a group from USA or US-Army, who tried to get some parts from the plane.
But no office in Germany or USA can help me with an answer. Is there anyone who
knows more?

have an elderly buddy that was a B-24 Bomdardier based in North Pickingham, East
Anglia, England in the fall of 1944. His plane, "THE EASY WAY", was
shot down on November 26, 1944 on his 13th mission over Misburg (Hanover area),
Germany and spent seven (7) months as a guest of Herman the German at Stalag Luft-1
near Barth. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I have already been
in touch with the Stalag-Luft-1 website and that was a big help. My friend is
in the process of writing his own story and is looking for a couple of "roomates".

I was in the 328th CAMRON, 328th OMS and, 4650th
Combat Support Squardons (Recip aircraft maintenance and flight engineer: C-123,
U-3A, C-47, C-54, and C-118) during the period 10 JUL 60 - 19 JAN 66 and am interested
in an R-G reunion. I'd be glad to help pull it together, but accomplishing it
alone from Ohio (600 miles away) would be just about undoable. We would need local
Missouri/Kansas folks to provide interaction with appropriate officials and logistics
elements to get it done. I think that there is a lot that I could do to help too.

Looking for F-105 pilots
- stationed at Takli Thailand in the months of April or May 1965

name is Warren Mackey, and I already have a previous e-mail on this web page looking
for a F-105 pilot that was shot down over the Tonkin Gulf in Vietnam in 1965.
Thank you to everyone that has responded, and gave me information, and where to
get information on his identity. Unfortunately I have not been able to identify
him, if there are any Air Force F-105 pilots that were stationed at Takli Thailand
in the months of April or May 1965, and know of any pilots that were killed in
action during that time it would be great to here from you. My Father pulled this
pilot out of the ocean, he was already deceased when they got him onboard the
USS Canberra. My father wants to pay recognition to this fallen pilot at the Vietnam
memorial wall, and would like to know his name.

Looking for anybody that was in the TAC, 516th
TCW, Dyess AFB, Texas, during the years of 1962 - 1964. I was a Personal Equipment
Specialists assigned to work on the C130D & E models, supporting the U.S.
Army 82nd Airborne &101st Airborne and other missions as assigned. I was discharged
in June,1964, and went back to my home in Virginia to join the civilian workforce.
I retired from the Federal Government January 4, 2002. I am looking for old friends
and coworkers from the past. I have attended a few high school and college reunions,
but it would be very nice to see some old USAF buddies. I have spent a weekend
in Dallas, Texas, with an old USAF friend but he worked out of the personnel office
of the 516th. We still communicate by mail and sort of keep up with each other
from year to year for the past 30 years. In anycase that's my story, and would
appreciate anybody connected with the old Personal Equipment shop to get with
me through my e-mail address.

Munitions Maintenance Squadron in July, 1962 and inactivated in October, 1964.

hi, my name is Harry soukiasian (nickname
souki or skee)and was stationed in the air force between may of 1966 to Feb 1970.
was in transportation. was stationed at Suffolk County air base from June 66 to
Sept 70 in transportation. went to 388th transportation sq. in korat Thailand
Oct. 67 to Oct 68. then went to 1 St. aerial port group (tac) langley AFB VA.
from Oct. 68 to Feb 70. looking for anyone that knew me or any kind of reunion
anywhere.
